The "All-Japan University Sumo Invitational Tournament" is a competition of top sumo schools from across Japan, with nine universities from Eastern Japan, two from Western Japan and one local university participating. The tournament features both individual and team matches and is known as a gateway to professional sumo. Every year in mid-July, intense bouts take place at the Utatsuyama Sumo Arena. Sumo is not just a sport but also a living cultural heritage that Japan proudly cherishes.
