Utatsuyama Temple Area
The Utatsuyama Temple Area is one of the temple districts in Kanazawa, crowded with more than 50 temples and shrines.
The Maeda family, who ruled the Kaga Domain (the present Ishikawa and Toyama areas), collected shrines and temples in these districts. It is within a short walking distance from the Higashi Chaya district to the foot of the mountain, where a long and winding alley and slope continues, and you will see old shrines and temples one after another along the alley.
It is a quiet walk course where your heart will settle down. The shortest course is 2.6-kilometer long, which takes approximately 90 minutes to visit 12 temples and shrines. You can enjoy a variety of courses according to your convenience. Visitors can see the interiors of some of the temples and shrines.
