Utasu Jinja Shrine Setsubun Festival

Experience Japanese traditions at Utatsu Jinja Shrine.

On the day of Setsubun, it is a tradition in Japan to throw soybeans to drive away misfortune and bring good luck. Utatsu Jinja Shrine, located by the Higashi Chaya District, celebrates the day with free sake and dances and bean-throwing ceremonies performed by geisha.
