Tea ceremony & Making original incence (Noto earthquake support)

This is a rare and advantageous special plan unique to Kanazawa Machiyajuku, where you can experience both incense and tea ceremony in a private tea room.

This is a great value plan where you can reserve the tea room for one person or one group,

so you can use it with peace of mind and enjoy both incense and tea.

[Making original incense]

A custom-made incense service where you can create your own incense using incense materials derived from Chinese medicine and real incense wood.

The incense master will work with you to find a fragrance that is uniquely yours, one that is close to your mind, body, and "wishes."

You can use it whenever you want to improve your mood or feel healed.

Incense: Powdered, portable incense that can be used without using fire.

●Time required: 80 to 90 minutes

[Tea ceremony(short version) ]

This is also a mini trial version of our popular program  `Tea ceremony and Japanese gesture experience''.

Please enjoy the "Chanoyu Experience" where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a tea room with all five senses.

Pour hot water boiling over charcoal into the aromatic matcha(green tea) and enjoy a cup of tea that is carefully prepared right in front of you,

along with beautiful fresh sweets.

●Time required: 30 minutes

COMMENT

※I went here for a traditional tea ceremony + custom incense making experience.

It was truly SO special. I highly recommend both experiences. They are so knowledgeable,

kind yet direct about customs, and very friendly. They have dedicated their lives to these art forms, and it shows. Go here!  (N.U様)

※Very beautiful and inspiring moment where I learned about the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and incense making and learned also about myself. (A.D.様)

※I had THE MOST amazing experience at Machiyajuku! I reserved the tea ceremony and incense making to start off my day. I was COMPLETELY IMPRESSED!

Incense making was by far my favorite part! What a unique experience! Honestly one of the top 5 best cultural experiences of my life.

This is a very spiritual and personalized experience (not craft like as I was imagining). I was introduced to many difference scents and was asked which scents evoke memories and what those memories might be. My favorite part was a guided meditation of sorts where I was asked to find a place of peace and happiness from my past. I was asked specific questions to describe the scenario. We used these memories to create my incense. {scent is the strongest sense tied to memory} Coming out of the meditation I had tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms. I was embarrassed but they were such HAPPY tears. The incense master was able to tell me a lot about myself based on the choices I had made. She was almost physic with it. I enjoyed her interpretations and she was right about it all! In the end I softly ground the chosen scents myself and they were added to a small cherrywood box as a keepsake. The incense will last 100 years. In the distant future think I’ll have my descendants bury it with me when I die. Until then- it’s not really a keepsake. It’s a memory. It’s me. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH! Everyone should do this!! Best souvenir from Japan I could ever imagine.

※We absolutely loved both experiences. (M.M様)

We'll review and come again next time we  are in Kanazawa.(G.R.様)

※Beautiful experience - Thank you for sharing with us!! (C.B.様)
