Create your original vessel in a unique "Kanazawa-Nuri" style by layering and painting various colors!

You can take it home on the same day

Enjoy the traditional craftsmanship of Kanazawa!

At kanazawa saryo, you can use a traditional Kanazawa Kutani ceramic vessel and arrange it in a modern style using the unique Kanazawa-Nuri technique to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Experience the traditional lacquerware technique of selecting three colors from a range of approximately 20, including pastel and neon colors, and layering and scraping the paint. The vessel is yours to take home on the same day.

Once completed, you can enjoy a cup of premium Japanese tea blended from tea leaves from all over Japan.

The second floor seating area is a café space with a view of the city of Kanazawa.

Spend a moment where your creativity is tickled.

Our workshop flow:

1. Imagine the colors

What's your mood like? What colors would you like to use? Let's imagine the colors you're going to use. You can also challenge yourself by combining your favorite colors with colors you wouldn't normally choose.

2. Make the colors

Choose three colors to use as paint from more than 20 available colors. Blending colors will increase the range of colors.

We have 15 basic colors and 5 optional colors.

3. Layer and sand

Layer the colors onto the vessel.

Repeat the layering and drying process one, two, and three times. Add texture to the first layer with bumps and sand it down with sandpaper for completion.

4. Enjoy premium Japanese tea

Savor premium Japanese tea from a one-of-a-kind vessel. Relax and take a break from your daily routine. You can also indulge in special tea sweets.
