The Temple of The first lord of the Kaga Domain, MAEDA Toshiie, and his wife Matsu.
[Sōtō Zen] The temple was founded by the first lord Toshiie MAEDA, and its founding abbot was Daito Keijō Zenji, a master to whom Toshiie pledged his devotion during his time in Fukui Prefecture’s Echizen Fuchū. It is the Maeda family’s family temple, where the memorial tablets of the clan’s ancestors are enshrined. Within the burial site, there are the Gohyōdō (hall with Toshiie's self-portrait and hair), and the tomb of the early Edo period painter and revered artist TAWARAYA Sōtatsu.
