Kimono dressing demonstration and lesson

Watch the secrets to dressing a beautiful kimono beautifully and try it yourself!

‘Kitsuke-shi’ is a highly skilled kimono dresser. They can dress up people in kimonos comfortably and beautifully mainly for formal ceremonies.

In this plan, the kimono dresser with 20 years of experience demonstrates how to dress kimono right in front of you, and you can try to dress a mannequin ,or if you wish, you may dress your companion.

Kanazawa is a city where you can feel very Japanese. Please have a special experience to deepen your understanding of Japanese traditional kimonos here!

A special time to see the work behind the scenes!

Nowadays, fewer people wear kimono on a daily basis except special occasions, for example on a coming-of-age ceremony, a wedding, a school entrance and graduation ceremonies, and so on. Kimono dressers usually work behind such a scene.

The kimono dresser of this plan also works as a professional dresser and instructor, so she is good at teaching dressing techniques. It will be a unique opportunity!

Demonstration of Furisode dressing and Obi tying experience!

You can see the demonstration of dressing ‘Furisode’, the formal gorgeous kimono for unmarried women. She ties an Obi-sash over 4.2m long into a decorative shape like a flower on the spot. She will give you step-by-step instructions, so you can try to tie creative obi knots.

Enjoy a kimono talk!

She will show you the tools for dressing and various types of kimonos and talk about various things about kimono. She was born and raised in Kanazawa, so she can talk about the familiar kimonos of common people. in this region.

She was the first to come up with this plan. You can't experience it anywhere else. Please come and see it!

This plan is a private plan limited to one group at a time, so you can ask questions and try things that interest you.
