Gold leaf is one of Kanazawa's crown jewels: perhaps the most fitting symbol for the city’s enduring reputation for excellence in traditional arts and crafts. It is therefore hardly surprising that gold leaf application workshops are so widespread here. This one is only a few steps away from Kenrokuen Garden. Conveniently located, it is also very accessible in terms of the tasks to be performed. Among the forty or so designs available, all you will have to do is pick a few and apply them as you wish to an item of your choice: boxes, small plates and compact mirrors being some of the options offered by the facility. The perfect activity to relax with after a day of sight-seeing, and the opportunity to craft a souvenir of your own that you will be able to take with you upon completion.
