Yukitsuri Installation at Kenrokuen Garden
A Kanazawa winter tradition
‘Yukitsuri’ is a technique for protecting folliage from heavy snowfall that is carried out all throughout Kanazawa. The branches are held in place with ropes to prevent them from breaking under the weight of the heavy snow particular to the Sea of Japan side of the country.
At Kenrokuen Garden, this work is carried out from November 1 to mid-December. Come and view this unique winter scene for yourself.
