・Create your own craft using the same tools as professional artisans in a historic teahouse building with over 200 years of history.
・The venue, Kanazawa Shitsurae, is located in the heart of Higashi Chaya District and is designated as a Kanazawa City Preservation Property.
・Enjoy a rich cultural experience that includes an introduction to the historic building, an explanation of Kanazawa gold leaf, and a live demonstration of artisan techniques.
・Only one group is accepted per session, allowing you to enjoy a luxurious and private experience.
・After the workshop, relax with traditional Japanese sweets from the long-established confectionery Morihachi and savor tea served in a traditional Ohi-yaki ceramic cup.

About “Kanazawa Shitsurae”

Kanazawa Shitsurae is a gallery and select shop that introduces high-quality crafts from Hokuriku, centered around Ishikawa Prefecture, to Japan and the world.
We also host seasonal exhibitions and special displays throughout the year.

On the second floor, you’ll find “Sabo Yanagian”, a traditional-style café where you can enjoy sweets while overlooking the beautiful Higashi Chaya District.
We offer matcha served in handcrafted traditional tea bowls, wagashi sets, and a variety of seasonal parfaits made with fresh fruits.

※ The first-floor gallery shop and the second-floor café "Sabo Yanagian" are open to all visitors, even without participating in the gold leaf experience.
