Craft Museum without Display Cases
Kanazawa Shitsurae is a gallery shop that showcases high-quality crafts from the Hokuriku region, centered around Ishikawa Prefecture. The gallery features a curated selection of craft works by important intangible cultural property holders (Living National Treasures), recipients of the Order of Culture, and traditional craftsmen. The building itself, with a 200-year history, is a representative example of chaya architecture and offers many points of interest.
On the second floor, at the tearoom Yanagi-an, you can enjoy delicious local ingredient-based sweets while soaking in the atmosphere of the Higashi Chaya District. Starting from November 2024, we are offering an authentic gold leaf experience plan in this historic building. (Gold leaf experience requires advance reservation.)
