ORIGO

Authentic and original Italian food that can only be tasted here, where Kanazawa food culture meet Italian new traditions.

ORIGO is a nature inspired restaurant, where the Italian chef and owner Matteo Alberti, produce new flavours and textures through contemporary techniques and presentations.

ORIGO follows seasonality and focus to the time of year when a given ingredient is at its freshest and most flavourful.

ORIGO is a reservation only restaurant, serving only one Omakase menu (tasting menu) using local fish, vegetables, fruits and locally hunted meat such as wild boar, venison and bear depending on their availability.

The restaurant is located inside a Machiya, a Japanese traditional wooden townhouse historically used by Merchants and Craftsmen.

Respecting Kanazawa traditions, the space is fitted with contemporary furniture meticulously made by local artisans.

There are only three tables and a six seats counter in the main dining room as well as a private Tatami room which has a direct view on a Japanese style garden.
