Private Special Worship Ceremony at birthplace of “Okiagari”

This is a private special worship plan at Yasue Hachiman Shrine, the birthplace of “Kaga Hachiman Okiagari,” which has been loved by people in Kanazawa. It is within easy walking distance from the Kanazawa station, so please enjoy it during your travel time.

A priest will guide you through the origin and history of the shrine at the birthplace of “Kaga Hachiman Okiagari,” which is widely used as a motif in crafts and sweets. Each participant will dedicate a piece of Okiagari with their own wish.

1) Touch

First of all, you can enjoy local roasted green tea and view of Japanese garden from raditional Japanese room at Yasue Hachiman Shrine. Then you learn about the origin of Kaga Hachiman Okigarashi and the history of the shrine which was established in 1080 years ago

(2) Wish

All participants will make their wish and write these wishes on the Okiagari.

3) Pray

Participants will move to the hall of worship where five “Kaga Hachiman Kiagari” will welcome them, and offer the messages they have written in front of the shrine to purify them so that their thoughts and prayers will be heard.
