Ishikawa Ongakudo Hall
Home of the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa (OEK), this rare and exceptional music cultural facility features three distinct halls: a concert hall dedicated exclusively to classical music, a hall for traditional Japanese performing arts, and a multipurpose exchange hall.
The concert hall, renowned for its superb acoustics, has been the recording site for over 70 OEK CDs since its opening in September 2001, many of which have been released on major labels (as of the end of 2017).
On the first-floor promenade, there is a memorial corner dedicated to the late Hiroyuki Iwaki, founding music director of OEK. His tuxedo, baton, annotated scores, and other personal items are on display.
The café salon on the second floor of the concert hall offers a relaxing space where visitors can enjoy coffee, tea, beer, or wine.
In the Music Resource Room (located on the basement level and open only on weekends), guests can browse music books and magazines, or listen to CDs and watch DVDs.
