Geisha Lunch
An Intimate Afternoon with a Multilingual Geiko.
The highlight of this plan is the rare opportunity to converse directly with Ms. Suzu, a Geiko who speaks fluent English. Without the need for a translator, you can share stories, ask questions about her lifestyle, and enjoy traditional "Ozashiki" games. It is a heartwarming, laughter-filled immersion into a world that is usually hidden from view.
Note: This plan does not include a dance performance. For performances, please book the "Private Ozashiki Experience."
Highlights
Hidden Sanctuary in Kazuemachi
Your experience unfolds in Kazuemachi, one of Kanazawa's three historic tea house districts. Located right in front of the legendary "Kuragari-zaka" (The Dark Slope), our venue features iconic ochre-latticed windows—a preserved sanctuary where time seems to stand still.
The Art of Personal Hospitality
This is not a distant performance on a stage. Here, the Geisha (known locally as Geiko) join you at your side. They will pour your drinks and engage in graceful conversation, sharing stories of Kanazawa’s rich heritage. Experience the refined art of Japanese hospitality that has been perfected over centuries.
Playful Traditions: "Ozashiki-Asobi"
After lunch, immerse yourself in Ozashiki-Asobi—traditional drinking games such as "Konpira-fune-fune" or "Tora-Tora." Guided by the Geiko’s rhythmic musical cues, these games break the ice and fill the room with laughter, offering a joyful connection to Japan’s vibrant past.
A Visual Feast of the Four Seasons
Savor a beautifully curated Gozen lunch prepared by the renowned restaurant "Ichirin." Each dish is a masterpiece reflecting Kanazawa's seasonal bounty, served with the elegance and precision that defines Japanese haute cuisine.
