Special Limited- Time Tour near Kanazawa: Sake Brewery Dining & Taiko Factory Visit
A rare opportunity to explore Kanazawa’s cultural roots through craftsmanship, drumming, and sake.
This cultural tour takes you just outside Kanazawa to explore the lesser-known foundations that supported the prosperity of the Kaga Domain, with comfortable transportation and guidance from a local interpreter.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to Asano Taiko Musical Instruments, a world-renowned taiko drum maker with over 400 years of history. You will observe master craftsmanship up close, enjoy a live performance by a professional taiko drummer, and take part in a hands-on drumming experience. These techniques originate from leatherworking used for samurai armor, and their cultural significance can still be seen today—most symbolically in Kanazawa Station’s Tsuzumi Gate, inspired by the Noh drum cherished by the lords of the Kaga Domain.
The tour concludes with a meal at a restaurant renovated from an actual sake brewery, where you can enjoy Kaga no Kikuzake, a refined sake once favored by feudal lords during seasonal gatherings such as cherry blossom viewing.
This tour is ideal for travelers seeking a deeper understanding of Kanazawa’s culture, craftsmanship, and history.
On the final tour date (March 12, 2026), a traditional celebratory song that has been passed down for over 350 years will also be performed.
