The Miso Soup Club Kanazawa

Miso soup made from dashi broth in a quiet townhouse in Higashiyama, Kanazawa

An authentic food / cultural experience hub just beyond the bustle of Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa’s Higashiyama area. In a renovated traditional machiya townhouse, we serve Japanese-style breakfast and set meals centered around our signature miso soup.

Our star offering is a seasonal miso soup made with local ingredients, freshly cooked organic rice, grilled fish, and homemade obanzai. A meal that feels just like “home-cooked comfort food,” nourishing both body and soul.

Enjoy a quiet morning meal to start your journey in Kanazawa, or drop by for a cozy lunch. Our space also welcomes café and bar guests, offering matcha, sake, deserts, and other alcohol and beverages.

Upstairs, we regularly host cultural workshops such as calligraphy, flower arrangement, and traditional Japanese sweets. On the first floor, you can also join hands-on cooking experiences like making miso soup and rice balls.
