RYOTEI HONAMI
Long-established ryotei restaurant on the banks of the Saigawa River
The restaurant has a total of six tatami rooms in a tasteful space that makes use of a mansion built in the late Meiji period. All rooms have a view of the well-manicured garden, and the cherry blossoms spreading across the window of the hall on the second floor are particularly breathtaking. The restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars in 2021.
The large cherry tree planted along the Saigawa River is said to be over 90 years old. The second-floor hall, which skillfully incorporates the cherry blossom scenery, can be used for weddings and other celebratory occasions.
The “Osugi” room features a blend of Japanese and Western decor. The garden's wild flowers fill the room throughout the four seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, vivid greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy landscape in winter.
The elegant gate and the approach with sprinkled water welcome guests with care.
