The Art of Geisha specially invites 6 international visitors to join the annual summer festival in the Nishi Chaya District.
This is an occasion where Geiko (Kanazawa's term for Geisha) invite their Japanese local regular customers to "Kenban",
a building and facility where Geiko spend daily training, to show appreciation to the regular customers who support the Geiko culture and community.
Come and join this fun, casual party where you will spend 90 minutes with more than 50 Japanese locals, while watching several Geiko dancing, playing traditional musical instruments, drinking sake and beer, and savouring a bento (Japanese meal in a box).
Everything will be in Japanese, but it's a perfect experience for those who want to immerse in a real local Japanese culture.
Enjoy conversation with Geiko and locals using a translation app on your phone!
The party is not widely open to the public, and the tickets are only available for the regular customers or those who have a connection with the Geiko or teahouses. So please take this very rare opportunity to experience real Kanazawa!
1) Available language: Japanese only, please use a translation app on your phone to communicate if you don't speak Japanese.
2) No translator or the Art of Geisha staff will be present at the venue (except when announced otherwise)
3) Please note that "Bento" dinner is served cold. It's not a warm meal.
4) No dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
5) Unlimited drinks of beer, sake, highballs, etc.
