The Japanese Art of Giving Life to Flowers - Ikebana performances in a hidden residential area near the Higashi Chaya District
Come and discover the Japanese art of flower arrangement known as Ikebana.
Unlike the western flower arrangements, the ikebana is often characterised by its asymmetric appearance, showcasing harmony, beauty and balance.
We offer an experience to fully immerse yourself in the art of Ikebana by observing skillful works of an Ikebana master, and an opportunity for you ask
the master anything about the world of Japanese flowers.
The event begins with a 15-minute English guided walk along from the meeting point to the venue, where you will watch 2 types of Ikebana performances
by the master of Koryu-style Ikebana.
After the performances, there will be a matcha whisking experience.
You will enjoy a bowl of matcha with Japanese sweets to finish off the cultural experience.
Please note that the experience does not include a hands-on experience of making your own Ikebana.
