Kanazawa Geigi no Mai
Special performances of dancing, drumming, and ozashiki games by Kanazawa geiko
In the three teahouse districts of "Higashi Chaya-gai," "Nishi Chaya-gai," and "Shukei-cho Chaya-gai," where the old townscape still remains, Kanazawa geiko practice daily and carry on the tradition. Their highly polished traditional arts are highly appreciated both in Japan and abroad, and attract many people.
We hope you will take this opportunity to attend a special performance by Kanazawa geiko, who have trained day in and day out, and experience their dance, flute, shamisen (three-stringed Japanese banjo), and other performances, as well as their ozashiki (tatami room) games.
Explanations and commentary on teahouse culture and Kanazawa geiko will be included, and you will be able to take pictures with the geiko during the playtime.
