Gold leaf snow hanging “Kinpaku Kirara” lights up
In the area around Omicho Market, Kanazawa's “Citizens' Kitchen,” a monument “Kinpaku Kirara (gold leaf)” will be decorated with gold leaf, a traditional craft, and illuminated with LED lights to add color to the snow hangings, which are a winter preparation in Kanazawa. The glittering monuments will be displayed with 2,000 pieces of gold leaf on the Kanazawa Mza side and 500 pieces of gold leaf on the Kanazawa Hakomachi side! Korinbo Tree Fantasy
A winter tradition in Kanazawa! The zelkova trees along Route 157 from the Korinbo intersection to Korinbo La Moda will be decorated with about 110,000 LED bulbs. The tunnel of light that wraps around the roadway will make the night in Korinbo more colorful as many shoppers come and go. The zelkova tree in Atrio Square, the starting point of the tour, is a monument decorated with snow hangings, a winter preparation for Kanazawa, and will be illuminated by twinkling light particles spreading below. You can enjoy the light from inside your car or look up at the trees from the sidewalk in a relaxed manner. Katamachi Christmas tree and snow hanging illumination
A giant illumination with “two faces” will appear in the plaza of “Katamachi Kirara,” a commercial facility in the center of Kanazawa. The 9-meter-long fir tree will be transformed into the “Katamachi Christmas Tree” in the first half of the year until Christmas, and into the “snow hanging illumination” in the second half of the year until the end of Valentine's Day! The “Christmas Tree” is decorated with star-shaped ornaments at the top and spherical ornaments all around, and lit by approximately 20,000 white, champagne, and red LED bulbs. The “Snow Hanging Illumination” will be decorated with 10,000 white LED bulbs and beautifully hung by gardeners using the traditional method seen on pine trees in Kenrokuen Garden. The snow hanging illumination will create a fairy-tale atmosphere on a winter night in the downtown area.
