What is HAKUICHI Main Store – Hakukokan?

Operated by HAKUICHI, Kanazawa’s leading gold leaf manufacturer, this facility is a cultural complex where you can see, touch, learn about, taste, and shop for Kanazawa gold leaf.

In the basement museum, you’ll discover the history, techniques, and unique beauty of Kanazawa gold leaf through engaging, interactive exhibits. Don’t miss the breathtaking “Gold Leaf Room,” decorated with 10,000 sheets of gold leaf, or the projection mapping onto the armor of Maeda Toshiie, the founder of the Kaga Domain. The basement workshop also allows visitors to observe the delicate and beautiful process of applying gold leaf by artisans.

On the second floor, a fine art gallery showcases masterpieces created using the highest-level techniques of Kanazawa gold leaf craftsmanship.

After the experience, relax with a gold leaf soft serve at the café

and explore a variety of gold leaf products at the shop.
