Kanazawa Morning Stroll, Let's Go!

isotope

A cafe where you can enjoy meals, sweets, and drinks made with ingredients and seasonings from Ishikawa Prefecture. It is a sister store of the popular Italian restaurant "Jibunchi" located nearby. The renovated old house has a counter with six seats on the first floor and around 20 table seats on the second floor. The popular morning plate features a delicious combination of local flavors, including Jibunchi's herb-roasted Noto pork, mozzarella cheese from "Magazzino," bread from "NiOR," and seasonal vegetable side dishes. Enjoy a cozy morning in the warm atmosphere of the old house, perfect for a relaxing start to the day.

Hiramipan

A stylish boulangerie bistro renovated from a Taisho-era (1912-26) building, featuring vintage furniture. The popular shop, which often has long lines, offers three types of morning sets from 8:00 AM, including "Croque Madame" and "Quiche," all served with salad and coffee or tea. You can also add soup to your meal. The dishes are packed with plenty of vegetables and are known for their satisfying portion sizes. The delicious flavors will give you a boost of energy.

Morning service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are not accepted. It's recommended to visit early, especially before your sightseeing plans.

Si Zhi Tang Kanazawa

A shop that brings the Taiwanese breakfast culture, where it's common to enjoy breakfast at a food stall before heading off to work or school. The shop is located in a renovated building of a long-established oil wholesaler, retaining the charm of a traditional town house with a restaurant area that offers a view of the garden. The weekend-only breakfast menu includes Taiwan porridge, which gently warms the body, and tǐng dòu jiāng (a soy milk and black vinegar soup) that refreshes and rejuvenates.

In Taiwan, there's a saying: "一年之計在於春,一日之計在於晨" ("The plan for the year lies in the spring, and the plan for the day lies in the morning"), which highlights how important breakfast is in Taiwanese culture.

With the tranquil atmosphere of the historic town house, you can enjoy a slow, relaxing breakfast on weekends. Breakfast is served only on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM (last order at 10:00 AM). Reservations are accepted.

Cafe Tamon

A popular pancake specialty shop located in the Higashi Chaya District. Housed in a fully renovated over 100-year-old traditional house near the Utasu Jinja Shrine, the modern space offers fluffy rice flour pancakes that have become a local favorite. The breakfast menu, "Asa Tamon," features three types of pancakes: "Pancakes with fried eggs and sausages," "Honey Yogurt Pancakes," and "Egg Benedict Pancakes," all served with fresh vegetables. Each set includes one drink of your choice from a selection of 9 drinks.

Indulge in a luxurious morning with pancakes carefully made by artisans, paired with classic breakfast toppings for a blissful start to your day.

The breakfast menu is available from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and reservations are not accepted.

Cafe Kagafu Fumuroya

A cafe operated by "Fumuroya," a long-established Kaga "fu"(*1) shop that has been around since 1865. The cafe offers a variety of sweets and meals that bring out the traditional flavors of Kaga fu. Among the sweets menu, the popular "Kuruma fu French Toast" is available from 9:00 AM, making it perfect for breakfast. Using "Kuruma fu"(*2), which is similar to French bread, the dish has a light, smooth texture that leaves a lasting impression.

Located in the JR Kanazawa Station building, Kanazawa Hyakubangai Anto West, and Hyakubangai Kitchen, it is an ideal stop for a quick break. The cafe has both counter and table seating, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time comfortably.

Angolo CAFFÉ

An Italian cafe renovated from a 130-year-old former fishnet shop, blending the nostalgic charm of a traditional town house. The building, originally constructed in the Meiji era (1888), has been renovated to combine the essence of Kanazawa's townhouses with Italian culture. The space is now a multi-use facility that houses a flower shop, an Italian restaurant, and a hotel. The owner aimed to create a place where anyone can casually stop by and enjoy a conversation with the barista, inspired by the bars the owner visited in Florence. The cafe offers authentic espresso made with the famous Florentine espresso machine "Marzocco," along with a variety of espresso-based drinks.

The cafe serves croissant sandwiches filled with ham, cheese, and vegetables in two sizes (S and L). On weekends, they also offer a toast set (drinks not included). Popular breakfast items include "Bombolone," a donut filled with cream, and "Banana Bread." The cafe opens at 8:00 AM, and recommended breakfast items include the "Croissant Sandwich" and "Bombolone." On weekends, the toast set is also available.
