"Yuzen-Nagashi", a tradition in Kanazawa, is making a one-day-only comeback!

  • New

Yuzen-Nagashi is one of the processes of Kaga-Yuzen silk dyeing, a traditional craft in Kanazawa, where glue and excess dye on the fabric is washed away in a clean river. In the past, it was once a common sight seen along the charming and quaint Asanogawa River, which is adjacent to one of the most popular tourist spot in the city, Higashi Chaya geisha district.

In order to carry on and pass down this traditional culture to the next generations, which was discontinued 5 years ago, on June 7 only, a “Yuzen-Nagashi” event featuring Kaga Yuzen artists and artisans will be held on the Asano River!
