Ski Resorts within 1 hour away from Kanazawa

Hakusan Ichirino Onsen Ski Resort

Located about an hour by car from Kanazawa Station, this ski resort in Hakusan city (the neighboring city of Kanazawa) is one of the largest ski areas in Ishikawa Prefecture.

With a variety of courses suitable for beginners to advanced skiers, everyone in large groups can enjoy the slopes all day long.

Additionally, the kids' park is divided into areas for sledding, tubing, and skiing/snowboarding, making it very popular with families as it caters to a wide range of ages.

Next to the ski resort, there is a day-use hot spring, so why not stop by for a relaxing soak after skiing?

During the ski season, direct buses from Kanazawa Station to the resort operate mainly on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Operating season (tentative): December 21, 2024 (Sat.) to mid-March 2025

Business hours: 8:30 AM - 4:50 PM (Weekdays), 8:00 AM - 4:50 PM (Weekends and holidays)

Night skiing is available from 4:50 PM to 9:00 PM on weekends and holidays in January and February (excluding January 1st and 2nd).

Iozen Ski Resort

Located just 30 minutes from Kanazawa Station, this ski resort in the city offers a variety of slopes.

In addition to beginner-friendly family slopes and sledding areas, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, a practice zone for beginners is set up on a gently sloping terrain. This makes it an ideal place for families with young children and first-timers to enjoy.

In addition to ski and snowboard rentals, sled rentals are also available, making it easy to visit and have fun.

Operating season: Late December to early March 2025 (depending on snowfall)

Business hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

IOX-AROSA

Located about 50 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station, this ski resort in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, offers a variety of attractions.

With a gondola lift and five pair lifts, the resort has a longest run of 3,000 meters and an elevation difference of 500 meters. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Nanto City.

The resort features diverse courses, including a children's slope for young ones, off-piste areas for advanced skiers, and a park area. Night skiing is also available.

On the way back to Kanazawa from IOX-AROSA, there are several day-use hot springs, making it a great spot to warm up after skiing.

Operating season: December 28, 2024 (Saturday) to mid-March 2025 (tentative)

Business hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Daytime), 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays *only Saturdays in March)

Free parking for up to 1,500 cars.
