"Yuzen-Nagashi", a tradition in Kanazawa, has been revived for one day only!
Yuzen-Nagashi is one of the processes of Kaga-Yuzen silk dyeing, a traditional craft in Kanazawa, where glue and excess dye on the fabric is washed away in a clean river. In the past, it was once a common sight seen along the charming and quaint Asanogawa River, which is adjacent to one of the most popular tourist spot in the city, Higashi Chaya geisha district.
In order to carry on and pass down this traditional culture to the next generations, which was discontinued 5 years ago, Yuzen-Nagashi was revived by Kaga-Yuzen artists and craftsmen on the river for one day on 4th June!
