Ishikawa (Kanazawa) Selected as one of the Top Sustainable Travel Destination in 2024 by UK's travel magazine Wanderlust!
Ishikawa (Kanazawa) was successfully selected as one of the Asia & the Middle East's top sustainable travel destinations in 2024 by UK's longest running and the largest travel magazine Wanderlust!
We (Kanazawa) made out the first draft focusing mainly on the city's cultural sustainability in cooperation with Ishikawa prefectural government and then the prefectural government officially applied for the "Travel Green List 2024" by Wanderlust. That's why the name of the destination is not Kanazawa but Ishikawa which incorporates the city, however, we're pleased that Kanazawa's sustainability was highly evaluated from the cultural point of view anyways.
The selected destinations are as follows:
Hokkaido (Ainu), Ishikawa (Kanazawa), Kazakhstan, Singapore and the Red Sea
