Enjoy the atmosphere of Higashi-Chayagai, one Kanazawa’s historical districts, to the fullest!

Try on a fancy kimono from a rental shop nearby and stroll inside Kanazawa’s geisha district!

Easily accessible from Kanazawa Station, the historical district of Higashi-Chayagai is one of the city’s major sightseeing spots. Back in the days, the area was filled with “teahouses”; select clubs only available to the wealthy. Behind the lattices, geishas dressed in fancy kimonos would entertain their audiences with meticulous numbers of dances and music. How about bringing back some of the magic from the past while strolling around Higashi-Chayagai?

Only three minutes away from the district’s heart, the kimono store Kanazawa Kirara allows you to enjoy the nostalgic feeling of the place in the most appropriate outfit possible. The store provides everything you need, so feel free to come empty-handed. With the help of the store’s staff, you will be able to choose freely from various types of kimonos and find the one that suits you the most. So why not stop there first, dress up before going sightseeing and immerse yourself completely in the refined atmosphere of Japan’s bygone days?
