National Crafts Museum opens to the public!

As the first national art museum along the Sea of Japan, the National Crafts Museum (The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo) opened in Kanazawa on October 25, 2020!

About 1,900 works of art and craft works such as ceramics, lacquerwares, textiles and metalwork moved from Tokyo to be relocated in Ishikawa Prefecture. Visitors can admire remarkable craft works created by Living National Treasure (individuals certified as Preservers of Important Intangible Cultural Properties).

At night, several cultural facilities, including the National Crafts Museum, are lit up for visitors, giving an excellent opportunity to enjoy a walk and discover the city in night time.

* Currently, they have an online reservation system for visiting the museum. Please refer to the official website for details.
